The anniversary of “NO“, October 28, 1940, was also celebrated at the headquarters of the Municipality of Ancient Olympia with the established ritual! The celebration began as usual with the Divine Liturgy and the Doxology called for by the day. The officials, the Greek Flags of Elementary and High School, the teachers and the students came to the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin as well as a large number of believers – observing the measures for the corona virus which still persists – while at the end of the Doxology, the direct and fervent speech of Elementary School’s teacher Georgia Zafeiropoulou, caused waves of shivers and emotion. At the Heroes’ Monument, where the bust of Major Praxitelis Kondylis dominates, wreaths were laid by the authorities of the place, while on behalf of the Trade Association of Ancient Olympia, the General Secretary G. Efthimiou laid a wreath.
